Sussex Barn Gardens

MDH Architects (Lewes) have proposed a modern and exciting development to this traditional Sussex barn. NDG+ have been commissioned to design the exterior areas surrounding the property.

The courtyard design (left) has been structured in such a way that it compliments the bold geometry of the architecture. This is the main area for the client to spill out onto and it was important that there was enough space for entertaining and relaxing.

At the rear of the property the land is steeply sloping and a series of retaining walls have been specified to carve out a stylish seating area (above). This is a more intimate space and will include an outside fireplace and covered pergola for alfresco dining.
