With Christmas and New Year behind us I met with my contractors for our first project meeting to plan the construction of the show garden. I come away from the meeting kick myself that I always make things too complicated. Why couldn’t I have simply designed a few nice borders and pretty seating area? I suppose this headache is a consequence of pushing the boundaries.
Our garden reflects the tension that exists between man and nature – order and chaos.
We aim to create a fast flowing stream (turbo-charged) that will flow under a glass floor. Above the glass the outlook is calm and controlled while below a torrent of continually flows.
We are also designing the most elaborate of water walls. The concave shape will be the starting point for the fast flowing stream. Water will be pumped up the surface to create a breaker wave.
More on that in later blogs…
The other news is that Ally had her second scan. Our beautiful baby was pictured doing somersaults. I’m trying to support Ally but she is coping amazingly well. Morning sickness has gone as has the addiction to tomatoes and rice.
